1. I learn something new every day. In the US it is legal to make back-ups of software. So if you own a game, you can legally rip it to your computer. Then there is nothing stopping you from using an emulator.
2. I got a little bored and looked up the Connectix lawsuit. They were being sued for selling PS emulators, and they were sued by Sony to stop it. Sony lost, and they were free to continue selling their emulators.
