I warned them what would happen if we gave people the power to change thread titles but they wouldn't listen. They wouldn't listen........
Anyway, my vote is for Mass Effect (if it were Uncharted 2, I'd have voted for that one, easily). Uncharted was the second PS3 game I bought because I wanted to show off the power of my new console. I know it's sacrilegious but Metal Gear Solid 4 didn't do that for me. While Uncharted looked good, it boiled down to fire fight after fire fight against a horde of brain dead enemies (I don't care what those videos said at the time about how smart the enemies were--those guys were idiots!) that took far too many shots to kill. I eventually resorted to running towards them while shooting until I was able to melee them to death. Needless to say, Uncharted 1 was a beautiful looking/sounding/playing game that got bogged down by last gen game design and pacing. It may as well have been called Max Payne or Syphon Filter: Jungle Edition.
On the other hand, Mass Effect was a glitch filled mess with a terrible inventory system and a week cover-based fighting system, too. Still, the game was more than the sum of its parts. It featured an engaging story and a great cast. I found myself staying up late at night to play it whereas, in Uncharted, I found myself forcing myself to finish it just to justify the purchase. I've re-played Mass Effect probably three times. I finished Uncharted once and only went back to play it again because Leo-J said it looked better than every 360 game, ever. So, like I said, my vote is for Mass Effect.
And what's the big idea pitting what is supposed to be an RPG vs a TPS/Adventure game?
Mass Effect: 9.1
Uncharted: 8.0
Well, I shan't be visiting this thread again. I don't like the whole PS3 vs. 360 thing, anymore. It's just not exciting in this day and age. Peace out.
