I don't know what to say. I've read through the whole thing and both sides actually more or less take a middleground, so sometimes you wouldn't even really know who argues for what, if you didn't check the name.

I think part of the problem in this debate is that the "gamer" never is clearly defined and thus people talk past each other, because the central point of the discussion has an ever changing definition.

That would've made for a more interesting debate, if the two sides had just derailed it entirely into a debate over what constitutes "gamer" and tore everything down

Would've been my strategy if i had been chosen

i agree with this sentiment, the word gamer should have been defined more clearly. the offense was just using the same arguments that "hardcore" gamers have been using the entire generation, which are fine arguments from only their standpoint. also, the defense seemed apologetic for defending the wii, which makes it look weak. and whoever on the offense said that nintendo abandoned local multiplayer is silly because they are the only console that really focuses on playing games together, in the same room. i think next them you guys should pick people who will argue more passionately and have a topic with a clearer defintion. hope to see more debates.
