They've pretty much made it apparent that they aren't going to invest all that much in 1st party resources in terms of developers outside of a few big 1st party franchises and Kinect stuff.

MS just opened 3 new studios.

MS Soho

are brand new studios. With BigPark, Good Science Lab, 343 industries and the guys behind the 1vs100 show, I think MS did invest a lot of resources in their 1st party studios. 7 new studios in 3 years is not bad IMO.

well technically Don Mattrack was one of four founders that had created the studio back when he was the head of ea sports but when he told microsoft about the studio they decided to just buy it out prolly was cheap for them due to don already owning some of the studio
