I think it makes financial sense for Nintendo to insist on goldeneye and perfect dark as being virtual console only. It's not so much that those games are valuable in terms of profit/sales, but it's more valuable in terms of exclusivity.
Nintendo doesn't *need* this, and I don't think they want to see their property on XBLA.
Also, Nintendo doesn't need Goldeneye like it did when the N64 was their current generation console. Nintendo has many generations of consoles to draw high end games from. I think Nintendo would also like to see Banjo-Kazooie and Conker on the VC.
If Microsoft wants Goldeneye so bad, why don't they make Nintendo some sweet offers? Maybe offer to let Rare port Viva Pinata to the Wii since they're already porting it to the DS.
