How is the Playstation Move more Accurate than the Wii motion plus?

3D positioning of the users. Move knows where in the room are the players, wii motion plus doesnt. Between, does wii motion plus sense depth? (not talking about sensing foward/backward movement through the use of acceloremeters). If not thats quite a big of a difference.
