I think its obvious who I would pick. I have been a huge Marvel fan for a while now. Their characters just intrigue me much more. The only characters I know a lot about in DC are Batman and Superman. When I was a kid I pretty much only knew Batman and Superman. I really liked them. Then when I got into my teenage years I really began getting familiar with the Marvel heroes. I think the X-Men movies had a part in that. I started looking into all the different characters that Marvel offered, and I started to really like them. The mutants are just cool and unique to see all the abilities that developed. My favorite of course is Captain America for his leadership, personality, and his personal story.
I think the Marvel movies have made their characters much more popular. It seemed to me that back in the 80s and early 90s if you were to ask a kid on the street to name comic book heroes you would mostly get Batman, Superman, and sometimes Spider-Man. But now if you go and ask a kid on the street what comic book characters they know of you would likely get Batman, Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Superman, Wolverine and Incredible Hulk. And IMO I think you would get them in that order of popularity now days. It just seems that Superman while still very popular, is not as popular as he was in the 80s, 90s and before then. You see I think since most kids watch movies rather than read comics now they have gooten more familiar with the Marvel heroes from the success of the movies. DC's Batman, and Superman have always been popular. Now there is more variety of characters gaining popularity. Marvel has been capitalizing on them with successful movies.
