In the 90's, there was the Marvel vs. DC crossover. Fans voted on the outcome of five battles:
Superman vs. Hulk. (Superman won)
Wonder Woman vs. Storm (Storm won)
Superboy (Conner Kent) vs. Spider-man (Ben Reilly) (Spider-man won)
Batman vs Captain America (Batman won)
Lobo vs. Wolverine (Wolverine won)
So, Marvel won, 3-2.
If they did it again, I'd like to see:
Superman vs. Thor
Wonder Woman vs. Hulk
Batman vs. Captain America
Green Lantern vs. iron Man
Nightwing vs. Spiderman
(toss in Lex Luthor vs. Doctor Doom, Darkseid vs. Thanos, Joker vs. Green Goblin, and Deathstroke vs. Bullseye for good measure).
