Sure it looks good, but we are at a point where we have 10 really good looking games releasing every year and RAGE doesn't seem to blow those other 9 games away. Maybe I just haven't caught on, my mind may change when it releases my mind will change. |
Personally, I think its just id propping up their own product. Which, of course, any company will do, but I feel its going to bite them in the ass when their promises fall flat. I mean come on, 60 FPS with HD (at least 720P) graphics, graphics that are supposed to be some of the best and not a mess of low polys/low res textures, with huge, expansive levels. If Sony's first parties can't do this, there is no way a 3rd party developer can. Especially with a multiplatform engine. Even GeOW3 is fargoing AA to help get more out of the 360. To me it seems just like like Crysis 2 with all its graphics hype. Sure it could be easy on the eyes, but the graphics were inconsistent throughout the game, with texture pop-in and dips in frame rates. I think when it gets closer to launch, id is going to realize they bit off a little more than they could chew and things are going to get cut.

RAGE has no AA on consoles and runs at 720p, may dip under 60fps or at least it did during alpha last year but should be at least as smothe as COD probably smother.
This is Cramack we are talking about and it's taken him 5+ years to craft an engine that was designed from the ground up to run @ 60fps on console.

Well, if that's true, then it has already lost in my eyes. A graphics king, in my eyes, shouldn't have a bunch of jaggies. Now, don't get me wrong, it may be incredible on PC. But as far as consoles go, I doubt it will be one of the greatest looking titles. Of course, I'm only judging graphics, as that is the topic of this thread, not its quality in terms of gameplay. Though, like I said before, from what I have seen so far it hasn't really impressed on those grounds. Maybe that will change before launch. Hopefully, there will be a demo.
