And while I enjoyed having that job and I think I'm pretty normal, I think that I lost some of my humanity because of some of the things I saw.  But, this isn't about me.  And I do genuinely feel sad for what that daughter had to go through.  If I thought about it hard enough (which I tend to not do because I'd depress myself), I'd probably be crying right now.

Wouldn't you experience in the army have made you lose your humanity more? Also, it's in a way good that you didn't think too much about this incident. I tend to do that and get seriously depressed for days. Sometimes I think that depression is some sort of werid drug that I like.

Airforce, actually.  And I didn't see much besides classrooms while I was in there.  No action, at all.  It did make me more disciplined and build my self confidence, though.
