(1) Yes I do question it. The Medical ethics have some principles, but i will put just 4 in here:
Justice, Autonomy, "Primum non nocere" (non-maleficence or [firs do no harm]) and beneficence.
It means that we (Phisicians/Doctors) must try to avoid by all means to harm the patient, even with surgeries. (Usually a last resort: do harm[invade someones body] to avoid that something worst happens [death/sequelae/functional loss])
In case of plastic surgery, appeared the unneed functional surgeries, that do harm the body, but you are dealing with something more complicated, the restoration of self-confidence/self-image. AND EVEN IN THOSE CASES, the surgeons are not supposed to do things that will cause(or is very likely to cause) more harm than it should, by causing chronic pain, disfiguaration, etc
**(I'm considering the world here, not those freak chicks and those crazy american plastic surgeons, those boobs are hideous and UNHEALTHY)
(2) EXCUSE ME, but in which med school do you study? I'm pretty much sure that what I learned in the hospital showed the body structures that are likely to be harmed/destroyed in that specific surgery and the high risk of chronic pain due to that destruction. (Med students know because they actually study that stuff)
(3) Sincerely, I would need to be in the drugs and guns bussiness, instead of health care, to comment on ethics about those. Because every job/service/profession/etc TENDS to have its OWN ethics. And even among those who work with health, there are different ethic codes. (Phisicians ethics=/=Nurses ethics)
BUT, if you are talking about MY MORAL STANDARDS, I'm against cigarretes, alchool and guns.(Me going against the people who use those is another completely different subject)
You certainly seems to take out of you B*** my position/vision/politics about those topics. And in case you still haven't noticed, I did not touched on those subjects in my first post. (Not even remotely close, by the way)
(4) I don't know which degree of low sholarity you received to come up with such stupid assumptions, but you certainly need better reading and comprehension skills. If you are a writer, as your site avatar shows, is a SHAME those standard skills of yours. Contest something with your own knowledge/experience is one thing, doing the same WITHOUT knowledge and come up with things the other never said, is completely diferent.
*My position about make up* , I only date girls that I've already seen without make up(and after knowing their personality), because I'll will not operate them, since is UNETHICAL to do it on someone you have so closely/dearly. (Yes it is, try to read about medical ethics and hippocratic oath. I did and in my profession I will need to continue reading from times to times).
PLUS: Take care when trying to prove your point about SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT, because the other guy may actually know very well the subject he is dealing with.
You can think that the whole word argue the same way internet teenagers, but, actually, there are some people with KNOWLEDGE about important things instead of just porn, games, gossip and freak stuff. (Which people are free to like, although I still think is weird guys enjoying gossip.....bus I'm not here to reprimand those )
