Wiimotes messed up by christmas trees?

This is a little late but i just remembered how enfuriating playing the Wii next to my xmas tree was, the fairy lights seem to give out the same light/heat as the sensor bar does, so it confuses the hell out of the remotes, its still pretty funny.
