I've got to say it...when I first saw this game I was like "meh." Seemed like a "kiddie" game to me and just didn't appeal. The more I saw of it though, the more it seemed just really cool and fun, NOT like a "kiddie" game. Then I saw the stuff about creating levels and was blown away. How does the thing know that when you make a circle object and attach it to a box to AUTOMATICALLY make it a turning wheel and start the thing to rolling? The way the physics ties in with objects is flat out mind blowing. I've never seen anything like this and I'm pretty sure it's the first of it's kind. At leas the first to be even NEAR this sophisticated.
Now LBP is one of my most anticipated titles. I'm praying I get in on the beta and will definitely buy it day one...assuming I can even FIND it for sale on that day. Actually, I'll pre-order but you know what I mean. The more I see it the more I'm convinced that LBP has the potential easily to be the "next big thing" in 2008. Wouldn't surprise me to see it in magazine articles, on the news, etc (Even something like 60 minutes or the like). It has such broad appeal and seems to be such good clean and intriguing fun, it won't surprise me not matter HOW big it gets. Of course, it COULD flop, but I just don't think that's likely. Anyway, there's my opinion. We'll see what happens!
