Considering Sony business model for consoles relies more on SW than HW profits, if they keep dev costs under control it could be a sensible move. A great wave of releases recently pushed PS3 to the top for months, and months before it also made the effects of the price cut and Slim release last longer than for any other competitor: as long as they are good, there's no such thing as too many games.
