I tried it three times alone. However I never killed him fast enough and always run out of time. But I was able to kill him together with one friend. Right now I feel it's more challenging and more fun to kill monsters alone or with just one comrade. I made many solo-barioth-runs last week and it always feeled satisfying to beat him. (Even if it usually took 20 to 30 minutes.) I also made the double barioth quest (HR51) with one random player. This was hard work, especially because the other player didn't knew my strategy. However we managed to capture both.
