That's true for me. Specially since I am interested in old games as I started playing games on a personal computer a year from now and I want to check out great old games I have missed.
Of course this has nothing to do with what the OP stands for: allowing every gamer, regardless of their hardware, to have a adecuate experience. Games made in the past could not foresee the change of standards.
