Probably the best part for Atlus is Sony globalization. Right now they do not have ANY publishing presence in Europe. Sony would give them that + get a great DEVELOPMENT studio with a PUBLISHING arm that knows how to localize niche products to make a profit.

Wild Arms is seen as a Playstation RPG already.
Even though Atlus and NIS are more on the niche side, they are fantastic localization wizards. I cannot even think of an Atlus game that had poor localization (and Perona 3/4 were fantastic) and NIS has done wonderfully with Disgaea. Hell, with NIS now joining the Anime frey, the company would give Sony another new avenue to explore.
