you can interact with things in oerba
and furthermore ff xiii is not the story for such things it has a different soul after completing events in cocoon you can 't go back to nautilus or bodhum you can only go to eden and gran pulse
i have played all ff and beated all (without XI and XIV) and final fantasy XIII is my third favorite due to great story and characters also the gameplay is clever for a modern rpg
Also if you want your classic rpg go play White Knight you will see there what an open world in jrpg really is
and Versus XIII may also enjoy you
