Selnor, it's unclear right now if the lighting feature is meant to bring the 360 onpar with the PS3/PC (with its lighting effects), or if it indeed is something that's supposed to make the 360 look better than the PS3.

No you didn't. Both you and Hiphopgamer are missing the point and are engaging in sensationalism. We have a small tweet that is completely ambiguous in meaning, and now you two are going "It's on, baby! It's on! PS3 vs 360!".
We don't know ANYTHING. We have no idea what this lighting "solution" is. We have no idea what makes it so much different (superior or inferior) to what the PS3 and PC have (assuming that they do have the same lighting technology).
In short, you're exactly the same as Hiphop gamer. A sensationalist and agitator.
