I liked 1994 myself

Donkey Kong Country
Super Metroid
Sonic 3
Sonic and Knuckles
Mortal Kombat 2
Super Street Fighter 2
Final Fantasy III
Earth Worm Jim
Warcraft

All those rocked my socks off that very year.

Don't forget

  • Daytona USA (first good, non sprite, 3D racing game)
  • Doom
  • Killer Instinct
  • Marathon (Bungies first game)
  • Mortal Kombat 2
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3
  • Sonic & Knucles
  • Tekken

It was a good year, but Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG define the SNES for me, so I couldn't vote for it

Yes, jsut checked. Secret of Mana and Illusion of Gaia were 1993, Chrono Trigger and Terranigma 1995. So 1994 was an excellent year, but nothing special back then...
