To be fair, what Geohot did was not illegal by law.

So true, he hacked his own product and didn't use it to steal software and such. But his hacking lead to people finding ways to use their PS3 for crime. So his hacking did end up helping criminals its just he himself wasn't a criminal.

I wonder when our Governments get their hands on LulzSec if they will actually serve alot of time in prison or get jobs working for our Governments against other hackers. Or if when they get out of prison they get jobs with Norton or something. Companies want these hackers to help them provide better security.
