I don't know why people always say that Nintendo is just playing catch up with Wii U. Isn't Wii the top selling system this Gen...or am I wrong?


I'm not sure I agree with them saying that, but it is understandable...

1. Nintendo have zero experience with HD gaming

2. They were far behind technologically with Wii: CPU, GPU and Internet capability

3. The attach rate for games was lower on Wii than the HD consoles. 

4. They failed to make the demographic shift they attempted all that time ago when Resident Evil was Gamecube exclusive. MS and Sony have a lock on certain demographic groups - definitely.

So there you go. They are behind in certain aspects. Definitely not success wise though.
