Though thats not nescarilly a bad thing, I don't like having to go in one direction with nothing to explore. I was irritated that all the doors in the building are locked except for the one your supposed to go through. It seemed to Linear when compared to games built now where you can at least look in some of the room's bigger level enviroments and such. But again I only played 20 minutes. In my opinion no game deserves a 0/10. The worst game I can think of Sonic and the Secret Ring I'd give a .5/10. But no game I have ever played deserved a zero. Though I have heard Super Man 64 and Bubsy 3D truly did deserve a rating that low. But those games were unplayable due to glitches and stuff. Duke is fully playable , I ran into no glitches and the gameplay seemed enjoyable. I lent it to a friend while my TV gets fixed and he said he's enjoying it. So all in all I can't see why some reviewers have been so harsh with their reviews! |
You do know that level design for FPS shooter have been getting simpler and more linear for years right? Duke Forever's level design actually mimic modern day games. Go back to the original Duke 3D and you will find a long and fulfilling game that actually reward you for exploring.
