had never heard of it but now with the examples here, it makes a bit more sense as to why some countries chose such vibrant colors... cause they can last.
One strong point you'll see is that there is probably less polution with plastic money... the inks are probably easier to set (heat I would guess with a plastic layer of protection, so the need for more durable inks at cold temp is lessened) and there won't be plastic polution due to the population willingly picking up those pieces of plastic if they lay arround on the floor :p
