hey i'm a nerd too, but i dont' need to compare my junk in the shower to feel good about anything.  if getting every achivement in a game makes a person feel good then so be it for the completion feeling.  But showing off to others i don't get.

I need to get every ITEM or thing IN the game makes me feel good.  i could care less if i didn't kill 1000 enemies, but would be annoyed as hell if i could not get say every bottle in zelda.  do i even use a bottle in zelda?  nah, havne't died in a zelda game in ages, but still want them all.  Do i then go and tell others that i got them all?  no, why would they care?

take league of legends.  There are WAY more champions that i hate or suck with than i am good with, BUT i will still plan on acquiring them all.  I WN'T have all teh costumes though cause they cost MONEY.  Or castle age on facebook.  There are tons of items or soldiers that are pointless to me, being that they are too weak to attribute to my army YET i still try and get them due to wanting them all.  Or pokemon games.  i sure as hell don't use all 647 or wahtever pokemon, but i want to catch them all.  if any of those games had achievements, they would NOT make me feel any better about doing any of those things.  I woudl not get a smile on my face if i got an achievement for catching my 100th pokemon.  I would not brag to my friends or show off my platinum trophy for catching all 647, or ect.  And anyone showing me their trohpies or achivement score doesn't make me go "wow"  i mean half the games i've played you get practically every achivement for just beating the game.  how is that impressive.  if you can't beat the game you suck ass

LOLed on your first sentence. I had to know that one was coming. But, yeah I think if someone is going around on XBL/PSN community bragging to every man woman and child about their killer gamer/trophy score then they are obsessive and probably dont have much feeling of self worth. I just like going through my friends lists and seeing which ones they have gotten and which ones they havn't. If there is an achievement/trophy that I have not been able to get and I see a friend has, then I have respect for them and try to figure out how they achieved it that particular task. It also tells me how much my friends have played certain games and compare what each of us has accomplished.
