Weapons: a really sharp Machete(for Limb removal), a Cricket Bat, or Aluminum Baseball Bat (lightweight and strong for bashing skulls), a Semi Auto Shotgun like a Spaz-12 (for the up close and personal encounter), A Remington R700 with a 6X,12X scope (For that reach out and touch someone encounter)
Items: A large truck with 4WD, preferably a Hummer H1, Night Vision/Infrared Goggles, High powered Binoculars
Basically secure my family and find a place to get food and water from. Then setup a barricade around my house and then proceed to wait out the infection only going out when needed for food and water. The nice thing about the guns I chose, ammo is plentiful in my area for those weapons. The local Wal-mart carries ammo for them even, not to mention the half dozen gun stores and Army Surplus stores around, those places will be a first stop for many.
