Also while the ps3 could have been to clear out stock since it was a flat 100$ discount, I doubt this one is it. Sony has announced a new sku. Microsoft hasn't. And amazon quite often gives $50 giftcards with most of the consoles. Upgrading that to a $100 for the deal of the day actually seems like quite the mediocre deal considering.

Just wanted to clarify one thing.
Sony has not announced any new SKU's. Only internet leaks/rumors of an updated SKU.
Also, MS does have a Gears of War 3 SKU with 320gb HDD, which indicates to me that there is a good chance we will see updated 360 SKU's soon as well. I'm guessing late august/september for price cuts to become official.

to clarify this clarification, they have patented a new SKU. The 3000 was patented several weeks ago. The current model is the 2000, the slim, which replaced the fatty 1000 models. So there is definitely a new model planned for release.

Thank you :) lol, I din't mean to make it sound like I doubted the revisions existed and were coming, just wanted to catch the minor detail that Sony themselves have not officially announced it yet for obvious reasons.
I am curious about the Gears of War 3 SKU. It's priced at $400 right now with the game and extra controller. Either the price cut will take effect AFTER Gears of War 3 releases, or the cost of this system will decrease when the price cut arrives.
