Nobody cares.
Nobody won E3 because nobody cares about hardware. May game sales were down 19% from last year because nobody cares about hardware. The big 3 are so eager to show off their fancy-schmancy hardware they forgot the most important thing:
It's all about the games.
Where are the games? Where are the new exciting titles? So what if you've got old re-hashes on new hardware? That's not exciting to 95% of people. This year's E3 was terrible, simply because of the lack of anything interesting in the software department. Not. A. Thing.
(Big Name Title) + (Number of Iteration)
(Old Game) + (Fancy word for "remake")
Is everyone afraid to be creative these days?
Edit: I will most certainly agree. 3rd party all the way this year. Skyrim might be #5 but those guys at Bethesda are ambitious and take risks with sequels. Not like a lot of others these days.
