@CaptainObvious, I have done cocaine and meth in the past. I am not proud of it but at least I never got addicted. The reason why people get addicted to those drugs is because they do them more than once every few months. I am sure one can do heroin once and not be addicted. What leads to addiction would be the access to it, friends doing it all the time, and weak minded people. It is hard to advocate legalization of hard drugs but with proper education I am sure drug rates won't rise even if legalized (probably drop). Not too many people say I want to be a crackhead, heroin addict, meth-head, etc.. when I grow up. I am more concerned about the prescription drug abuse for USA teens than heroin, meth, crack, and cocaine combined. Prescription drug abuse should concern parents more than anything. Teenagers have easier access to prescription drugs than harder drugs. They can steal them from their parents, grandparents, etc... Prescription drugs can be just as bad or worse when abused than the illegal hard drugs. They can mess up your liver, you can overdose, etc.. Adderall = prescription meth , methadone almost like heroin, etc.. The nation is making the kids addicts before they even get to middle school by popping them full of Adderall. Least if you made hard drug legal then you could attach an age limit to it (18 or 21). I suppose 21 would be the most suitable age. Prescription drug companies don't even have to worry about age limits. They can give your teenager anti depressant medicine that probably increase their chances of suicide. They can give you kid prescription speed at the age of 10.
