Well, I'm gonna try to find that study, though if you could provide a link that would be dandy. The article you linked says that Tea Party supporters are better educated than the overall population of Americans (37% vs. 25% have vollege degrees), however it doesn't say they're better educated than Democrats or Republicans. They admire Sarah Palin the most, so all that education may have not payed off. |
I wouldn't say they were libretarians either. Just stating that things often aren't as people portray them. As most people try to show them as backwater hicks.
As for the survey. Like I said... haven't been able to find any of that stuff anymore, it's all buried in all sorts of other studies trying to find out the same thing with various results.
It's just something that i amusingly pointed out in an argument with Manus when he provided the article last time as a justification for leftwing economic policy.
One that says Democrats are more educated because the states that voted for kerry had a higher Iq.
One that says Republicans are more educated because the districts that voted for Bush were better educated then Kerrys...
A study that shows People with Graduate degrees and Highschool dropouts are more likely to be democrats while Republicans deal more with Highschool and college graduates... etc (Highest democrat vs republican percentage? Those without any highschool at all.)
A study that shows most liberals can't answer basic economic questions that most people can ask.
Also various studies that show who makes more varies depending on if you count government welfare as an income/based on state/etc.''
Been working full time lately so haven't had as much time to statistics dive.
They've been voting Republican lately... but largely because the economy has been a HUGE issue and at least republicans pretend to care about real economics.
It is worth noting though that Libretarians are basically just liberals with a firmer grip on the general widely accepted economic and sociologic practices.

Also, I somewhat doubt that they can be described as "libertarian". The majority of them describe themselves as conservatives (73%). They're also very religious by the look of it.
