online security firms *crosses fingers*

acquiring such firms don't make sense...they just hire them

Can't that be said about third party developers that do sony exclusives already. A lot of people have been naming studios that already do stuff exclusively for sony.

two things tho

1. gaming is already part of Sony's business...part of the corp IS in the business of video games

2. 3rd/2nd party support come and go, you can't rely on them forever, especially if next gen the ps xbox are close to each other in strengths. First party helps a lot.

everyone gets hacked..doesn't mean it's a smart business move go out and buy a security firm unless they want to be part of that business imho...this is all about creating buzz and getting some interesting prospects into the sony family to keep things going. but yea who knows maybe they do want to get into the business of online security or something lol. I hope they get netflix tho, would be a very very good move

I was joking some what, but honestly sony does not need to buy Sucker Punch. The only reason I company like Sony should ever buy a second party, is if they are going to be bought up by third party.

Just like Nintendo shouldn't buy Camelot.

agreed, sony first party is strong as it is. the only way I can think a gaming company acquisition would be thought of is if they want a company to make exclusive RPG's for their systems or a company that will keep puping games to PSV yearly. But yea would be more interesting if they can buy a company like Netflix OR a company that will help with logistics or hardware manufacturing to reduce costs. Would be ideal going forward imo
