So I've been seeing people on the forums asking when Microsoft will, if ever bring out a portable gaming machine. Well they kind of already have one. It's called the Windows Phone 7. It has games like Assassins Creed and PES 2011, along with achievements connect to your Xbox profile.

Now personally I don't really consider phones a gaming machine, but the market is starting to, if not already seems think it is. But I will say if this is the path Microsoft wants to take with the portable gaming it’s a smart one. Instead of competing with Nintendo and Sony which have a good presence in the market with their portable brands, they have instead gone into new waters. Where most likely they can do better and the potential user base can be way higher. They have a large competition from Apple but they have the Xbox brand (and peoples achievement points) behind them to help reel in their already strong user base on the Xbox to their phones.

They also have the option to release new phones with better specs on a regular basis, while Sony and Nintendo can’t do that. Sooner or later Microsoft can leave Sony and Nintendo in the dust. They just need to play their cards right, which they seem to have had done in the begging of the WP7 life, but now the whole opportunity seems lost to them. They need more games on the phone with achievements points not only because achievement whores will want them, but it is great advertising when someone looks at an Xbox profile and sees a WP7 game.

Now discuss! =D

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.
