We really don't have enough information yet to make assessments on the WiiU. As it evident Nintendo is still in development stages from what we were shown. There are different avenues Nintendo can take here. One option would be to just have the one Wii U controller and the rest of the controllers be wiimotes. The plus side of this is im sure it would make the system much more cost efficient. The other side though is that you would have one person with the screen and the rest with just the wiimotes. They could however implement it in a way so that 4 wii motes are connected to the Wiiu controller and it provides specific information and data to all 4 players about the game they are seeing on the TV. The other option would be to allow multiple wiiU remotes for all players. While this could open up a ton of avenues in new ways to play, but it would also put a very hefty price on the new Nintendo console as you buy more WiiU controllers to have multiplayer at home.
My guess is they will do something like the second option where for multiplayer you will need 4 wiimotes and they will all connect to the WiiU contorller for specific information and data about the game. This however takes away what I initially thought as that each person has their own screen. If this is the case it would minimize some of the capabilities. Then again maybe Nintendo will offer WiiU controllers for those who want to spend the extra money. We really won't know much until they release more specific info.
