That's like arresting and interogating you becausee you hang out in the same bar as some bank theives.  If he is innocent... this really would be a huge violation of his civil rights.

He's probably already released anyway though.

If i was hanging out by a bunch of bank thieves, i wouldnt blame the police for interogating me. Anything like that can get them closer to the thieves is cool with me. The same should apply for this guy. Man why defend so much, you like the devil or something?!

Interogating and arresting are two very different things.

Espiecally when it comes to the internet.  If someone on this message board committed a crime, would you be fine with the cops arresting you, booking you and holding you?  What are the chances you are going to know anything?

Seems like the exact same situation.

Unless i am missing something all we have is this measly story. So you are most likely right in that it is a false alarm. Unless the FBI really did get them, and they are hiding it for further investigation. Either way, we dont know. Unless you have another link proving that he isnt a hacker, im going to go with my gut and say that he is. 

Should I take that to as close as conceding the point as you'll get?  If Brett hacked into the CIA and you got arrested, process and held... you'd be upset about it?

If he really was a part of them... you'd expect them to lay low... rather then keep hacking Sony.

If you can arrest anyone that's in the same chat room or website as a hacker... we're all probably arrestable.
