Agree with most of your post. Anyways, I thought what Nintendo showed was pretty good. Their 3DS lineup should make for a very solid holiday season. I am psyched for Mario Kart 3DS, Super Mario 3DS, Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario 3DS and a few others. Although most of the games I am psyched for are sequels; I usually don't mind because Nintendo never disappoints me in those series with story, game play, etc... I'd rather see new IPs but I can forgive Nintendo for sticking with their main IPs. They least handle their sequels better than most companies (Activision, EA, etc..)
The Wii U bird demo that was real time looked pretty good. I know Nintendo will think of many ways to make their tablet controller very fun to play with. I am glad Nintendo started focusing on controls a generation back. Sure you can release a bad ass spec system over and over again but with the same controls it starts to feel a little old. Focusing on controls should be the main focus of any video game console manufacture.
