The multi-genre / multi-cultural emphasis is the greatest strength of the PS brand. When I go to 360 forums, the central emphasis is Halo, and maybe Gears of War. All the other games come second to that. Since I really don't like Halo (yes, I owned it and sold it and just not for me), I feel a little out of the loop among the 360 user base and market emphasis. I'm buying the jRPGs which are doing very poorly on the console so far.

Going to PS3 forums, people have their different games they like and alot of times from different genres. Some people may hate FF, while others love it. Others may like Killzone, GT, MGS, etc.

I think MS is figuring out that they need to have more variety. But right now, it seems like they are just throwing a little support to their other games on the side of their big Halo emphasis. They really need to put some more emphasis into their other projects from different genres, if they want to break from the Shooter Box stereotype.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
