Gamescon is the reason ... GC is becoming more important for gaming companies that E3.

I've never seen more hype for Gamescom than E3, even coverage.

Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and others hold big announces for Gamescon... the price cuts are announced in GC not in E3.

I guess about two years ago that GC is bigger and more important for companies/gamers that E3.

You are vastly over estimating the importance of price cuts in the 'big announcement' game.

Hardware trumps them by a mile, and that's why Nintendo have chosen E3 for their new home console announcement today, and the announcement of the 3DS last year, when they could quite easily have held off for any of the other later shows in the respective years given the release dates involved.

E3 is where it's at.
