I don't know about "best", as I didn't play ODST or Reach too much, but it certainly is an exciting shooter.

As someone who has played and beaten every Halo made, I can say with full confidence that Halo CE is the best. Incredible game that lasted me well over 700 hours of online gameplay(PC, along with Halo: Custom Edition), more then twice any other Halo. I loved Reach as well, but nothing compares to the first.

Can't wait for the Remake!

I love Halo CE, it is an absolutely fantastic game. However, Halo 2 was better in my opinion. The story was much more fleshed out. Playing as the Arbiter gives you a great perspective on the way. The missions and location had more variety than Halo CE and it just feels more epic. I'm not a big multiplayer fan so I'm not going to argue about the multiplayer too much, but it did improve in that area too with Xbox Live support. I'm a Halo campaign fan so that's what I'm excited about, continuing the single player game. Halo CE Anniversary is going to be great and I can't wait to play it, but I'm even more excited for Halo 4 and the possibility for a Halo 2 Anniversary the year after Halo 4 ships. It's good to be a halo far, that's for sure.

To each their own, which is fine, because Halo 2 did things differently then Halo CE. Both incredible games. I just liked Hao CE more because it was a bit simpler imo, and Halo: Custom Edition had over 500 maps with equally many weapons. PC only though.
