Yeah, cause rapists get caught 100% of the time, and the increase in fake rapes won't at all hurt the chance of catching real rapists.

Rape is a serious problem. If somone cries wolf they should be severely punished. Most rape come form a person you know and when it is reported most are caught. not 100% but most. The problem is most rape isnt reported. |
How would you know if it was faked or not? Sure it can be investigated, but it's going to take a lot of extra manpower with all the increased cases.
Also the statistics we have on this differs.
The stats i have say of rapes reported there are about 50% are arrested. (Already not most.)
And of those 50% about 80% of them are prosecuted,
of those 80% procescuted 58% are convicted of felony charges. (A lot less then most... and this is only reported. You don't want to know the percentage of those convicted that end up in jail. It's not pretty, but it's also not relevent here.)
I could have old info. Even if i did i'd be surprised it it's improved much at all.
