The UN was an attempt to police the world. I believe every recognized nation is part of it. Why did the terrorist tryto attack the UK and Spain if theyhave no involvment in the world. China and Russia are both heavily involved with many countires and have alot of say what happens in them.
"most nations don't try to be the world's police" but every super power ever has. As is the role of the Super Power.
Every Military action follows 2 things. Economic: we attack for economic reasons, Social:we attack for Social reasons.
The more common of the 2 is economic. Were every we are economicaly interested our military isnt to far behind.

All superpowers that try to control the world fall, so should be follw history to our doom or change it to our benefit. Trying to hold other nations is a drain on our economy and a strin on our military, US is in decline either we change while we still can or we end up on the trash heap of history
