The lighting in this game is so awesome. It is the key reason why it looks so good. It truly gives it a sense of realism, the way every detail is shown in relief in the lighting.
Here's my favorite screen demonstrating the awesomeness of their lighting engine:
Just look at the way the light from his goggles reflects onto his arm, and then back onto the front of his helmet!
