I still think it's a neat little piece of hardware although mine's been gone for about 2 weeks (repair) and I can't say I really miss it. It had become nothing more than a really convenient way to pick up a quick session of SSFIV without having to turn on a console, load a disc and wait for the game to boot up. I will admit to still using the Street Pass and pedometer/Play Coin function up until I sent it for repairs though. Like all dedicated gaming devices, the 3DS is only as good as the games you play on it. And while technically one can play all their favorite DS games on their $250 3DS to feel as though they're getting "good use" out it; you really don't need a 3DS for that. 3DS games and 3D content are the only real distinguishing features of the handheld, neither of which is currently available in abundance. I'm not one to buy crappy games or games I wouldn't have bought normally were it not for the lack of better content to buy, or to use a device excessively simply because I paid a chunk of change for one. So until some of those announced titles I wanted are released (RE: Mercenaries next), the 3DS is kind of limited in value to me personally. |
yea exactly ngp and 3ds can be unique or just upgrades, who gives a shit.
hardware is nothing, software is everything.
i have only used my 3ds so far to play pokemon online, or to trade pokemon. my ds lite can't go online through my current modem so i need the 3ds to do it. the 3ds at moment has 0 games that interest me that are out. so it woulnd't matter if it was 10x stronger than the most powerful computer, it still would not be getting played
