Given the update problems (up to and including bricked devices) that Samsung's Win 7 phones have had, I probably would have bought... anybody else's Win 7 phone.

Samsung has the worst software support out of all the major smartphone manufacturers right now, with the exception of the Nexus S, since Google directly handles software for that device. Microsoft is supposedly handling software for all WinPho 7 devices, but Samsung somehow manages to screw things up anyway.

If you want good software support, get a Nexus or an iPhone. HTC comes distant third, with 50% of their phones getting a software update, IIRC. I'd stay the hell away from Samsung devices until they learn to support their products.
