He needs a laptop for working at his University though. Alternatively he could have bought a cheap laptop and then built a dedicated desktop for gaming but that probably would hurt his wallet more (in the short-term anyway. A gaming desktop is a better investment long-term than a gaming laptop) than just buying a powerful juice-guzzling laptop (just have your ac adaptor hooked up to your laptop during gaming sessions and you're fine though).

I suppose it's cool if it's for school then.
