Yeah $10 is unusually steep for a smartphone game. And Spectral Souls (Tactical RPG) is like $15 US (!!!) on Android Market. Funny thing is when smaller-scale PSP RPGs (ie. Cladun: This is an RPG) sell for like $20 on PSN, no one blinks an eye. When I bought it, I didn't see anything wrong with the $20 price tag even though it was short and sported a very retro aesthetic (185 mb download). That said, Cladun has the NIS brand behind it (and it is a quality title in it's own right). Going to be hard for a relatively unknown smartphone game developer to charge $15 in a marketplace where gamers are used to $1-$5 apps. Chaos Rings (Square-Enix RPG) is $13 on iTunes but that's Square-Enix. Every Square-Enix fanatic with an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad (sadly no Android port. I guess Android isn't popular in Japan?) is going to at least look into that game.
