I believe asking this question is still too early in Kinect's life. In two or three years it will be relevant but not right now when hardcore games haven't released yet. Also games like Forza 4 who are hybrid games. This tech is still new to devs and consumers, wait at least 2 years. People (especially here at VGChartz) don't understand that making hardcore games takes time so they will judge the device not on what can be done but on what is available today (I understand in a certain way) and believe that no more will be done.
I believe it wasn't a mistake from the other devs but more because they lacked the knowledge to make it work with games. What MS did is incredible. When more games utilizes the tech people will then realize why MS spent the money.
