And there was piracy before Geohot... why do people forget that?

before geohot this never happened :

www.gamefront.com/call-of-duty-multiplayer-now-unplayable-thanks-to-ps3 -hack/

you know before these games released: January 5th

StarDrone (PSN exclusive)
MicroBot (PSN)

January 11th

DC Universe Online (PC/PS3 exclusive)
Venetica

cod was fine to play, but after they released it wasn't.I think these devs need to be punished, look what they did to the psn.

http://www.ps3center.net/news/4940/ps3-releases-for-january-2011/

you lost me

I thought i would. I guess this convo is over. I know when I have hit a brickwall.

you lost me because you brought up something completely irrelevant to what we were discussing how do those games or the dates they were released correlate with hacks in an online game?

because its just as irrelevant as your point of geohot you know the one i qouted. Funny you couldn't see it. It comes down to you blaming geohot when you should be blaming the hackers that hacked the PSN. Thats all.

the difference is that because of his actions all of this occured so you still have me lost

again show me where he hacked the psn or pirated? Sony couldn't so I doubt you could. They are unrelated. ONe is legal to do one is not. You cant seem to reconcile this fact. I dont know what else to tell you.

i didn't say he did i said that he posted the most vital part of the hacking process therefore without him and thus the keys the majority of the hacking would not have occured

is that really that hard to understand?

so what are you saying the hacking ( for that period ) would have occured without him posting the keys?

i could care less if what he did was illegal or not the point is that what he did adversely affected sony, its partners and its customers adversely

And I am saying what he did did not do that. Blame the hackers that did. You are trying to put the blame on him instead of the hackers that caused the problme. Just seperate the isssues that is all. What you are doing is putting piracy is the same boat as consumer rights. other hacker aldready had those keys. if i rember correctly he was not even the one who found them. So again he did not casue your problems with PSN or piracy

"And I am saying what he did did not do that" he did not do what? this :

http://psgroove.com/content.php?598-GeoHot-Releases-Metldr-Key-All-PS3-Keys-Now-Vulnerable

so you mean to tell me that him releasing those keys did not result in an explosion in hacks? and that events like these ( that only happened after his release of the keys ) were not contributed to in anyway by his actions above? if so im afraid i'm the one who has hit a brick wall

www.gamefront.com/call-of-duty-multiplayer-now-unplayable-thanks-to-ps3 -hack

him doing hacks or piracy on his own is not the problem never was but when he does things that affects consumers then hes taking it way too far which is what he did
