Yeap, enjoy it now when its on a gaming forum against a company you dont like because whether you like it or not, these companies viablilty in the real world mean a lot more than people here so cavalierly ignore. The only thing thats going to come of this is increased consumer costs to maintain protection and probably stricter laws and limited consumer rights and or functionality. So get all your laughs in now because if this keeps up and/or spreads and companies post losses because of this real families who get let go will suffer.

Its fun to hate the big bad corperation until you grow up and realize that your neighbor gets a paycheck from a Sony distrubutor and hes the one who suffers, not "Sony"

By your logic, Sony should not have protection at all to make things cheaper. Banks shouldn't need safes neither, all they do is add costs.

No, by my logic it means ina field im more familiar with because i work at a hospital, malpractice insurence costs doctors not only a ton of money but limits the scope of medicine because its far too prevalent for people to blame doctors or nurses for things that are either inevitable or unavoidable so we cant always practice aggressive medicine and we always have to settle for the lowest common denominator for fear of being sued.

What im saying is, by these groups doing this, its like ambulance chasers or lawsuit peddling lawyers to doctors....its going to make IT companies or companies with infrastructure online tighten their reigns for fear of being cracked.

So you say thats good, but the problem is still the cirminals not the entry to information. In a perfect world yes there would be no cost to protect data because we could all just respect one another but thats not a possibility, people intentionally trying to steal data by any means necessary thus provoking increased cost is wrong.

You seem to be insinuating that these people forcing sony to tighten security are doing us a favor....but at what cost? In the future we may not have the ability to manipulate our HD's and increase size, we may not have cross platform play, open network to upload user created content etc.

Rather than focusing on the real issue (and im not even sure what it is anymore since people are so caught up on either destroying Sony or destroying hackers) people just take hold of the rhetoric.

Im for increased gun control but i dont go buy guns and shoot them in public (not at people just to scare them) to show people how it needs to happen.

There are better more intelligent, mature and sophisticated legal ways to fight for consumer protection and consumer rights no matter what you people try to say.
