In that case, and please take this all with all the salt you can get as I'm no expert, I'd go the Intel and choose the "Techbuy Intel Pro Gamer Computer System"route as you want
"as much power as possible, am keen to have plenty of fast RAM, play games at the best quality possible and would love a fast CPU for some video editing and data-compiling"
Then I'd do some changes:
-You surely have a mouse and a keyboard so you can scrap those and add the D-Link 802.11n wireless card and the external memory card reader.
