Zelda 1 and 2 are the hardest and most gratifing Zelda games so far in my opinion.
I started playng Zelda from A Link to the Past and then Ocarina of Time. Then I went to play these two NES Zelda games and wow, they really are you Vs a world of evil. and you die a lot in these games. It's quite a challenge compared to a game like Twilight Princess that you can finish it easily.
besides, in what modern zelds you can get a more powerful sword before even entering the first dungeon? better yet, before getting the first sword?
